Willow Creek Vocabulary:
Coiled – wind around and around into a pile, a tube, or a curl.
Octagonal – having eight angles and eight sides.
writhed – twist and turn; twist about
vague – not definite; not clear; not distinct
placid – pleasantly calm or peaceful; quiet
plank – a long, flat piece of sawed timber thicker than a board.
spit – a sharp-pointed, slender rod or bar on which meat is roasted.
raspy – a harsh grating sound
We are on Chapter 8 of Willow Creek – After we read chapter 10 there will be a vocabulary test over these words. Students will bring their lists home to study words in the next week. Spelling City is a great tool students can use to help them study their words and definitions. They know how to log on and play.
Thursday – Feb. 11th Valentine sacks and boxes need to be at school with their valentine cards for other students.
Friday – Feb. 12th Students may bring their favorite drink to school. They may also bring cookies/cupcakes, etc. to share with classmates.
MONDAY – FEBRUARY 15th – PRESIDENT’S DAY! NO SCHOOL!!
