I cannot believe we will be celebrating Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks!! It’s crazy how fast time flies. Here’s a couple of things for this week!
Reading logs will come home tomorrow – please continue to have your child read their 20 minutes nightly.
Wednesday look for your child’s binder to come home to be signed.
Thursday is Library Day!
I do need your help with one thing: Please send a white poster board by Thursday of this week. You can find these at Dollar General, Fred’s, and even Brookshire’s. There will be more information coming home soon on what the kids will be doing for Thanksgiving! It’s a fun project!!

Wow! Already a new month has crept upon us! Here’s a few things going on this week!
Tomorrow we begin a fundraiser for one our students at White Oak. This sweet little girl had a heart transplant! It’s called “Buckets for Belle”. Please send any spare change you may have. Any donation is excepted!!
October 4, Thursday – 4th grade field trip to the Belcher Center. Please do not forget to send a sack lunch with your child. We will eat lunch in the classroom before leaving around 11:30. We will return by 2:15.
October 5, Friday – Homecoming! Also, we will release at 1:15. Please make arrangements for your child.

Wednesday, Sept. 26th is an early release day! 12:00 noon Please make arrangements for your child. Also, every Wednesday Binders go home for parents to review papers and sign.
Thursday, September 27th progress reports will be send home.
Please read with your child or make them tell you about what they’ve read! 20 minutes nightly!
October 5th – Homecoming!!! We will have an early release that day! More information to come!

I failed to get the students book orders to them last week so they will get them Monday, September 10th. The deadline to order books will be Friday, October 19th.
Reading logs will start this week with students. Look for those starting on Monday. These will need to be signed nightly. Students will be required to read 20 minutes and write a brief summary.
Hope everyone had a happy and restful Labor Day holiday! It’s hard to believe it’s already September, but I know we are all ready for a little cooler weather! Here are a few things for you to know:
Parent Orientation – Monday, September 10th 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
I will be sending home Scholastic book orders Tuesday. The due date to order is September 12th. Look for a letter to come home tomorrow, along with the class code for ordering. You can order online, or send your order to school. Please send CHECKS only for the exact amount, no cash please. All students should be reading 20 minutes daily to you. Next week students will begin reading logs. These will need to be signed by a parent daily.
